Hello!

My name is Ilgin. I have had a love for cooking for as long as I can remember.

I was born and raised in Turkey, in a very traditional Mediterranean household, which revolved around wholesome, natural, home-cooked food.

My culinary passion led me to explore the world of sourdough baking so in January 2019 I set up 'Just Sourdough by Ilgin' in order to share my passion and enthusiasm and spread the sourdough love.

In June 2021, I received the Bronze Award in the Enriched Sourdough category of the Scottish Bread Championships at the Royal Highland Show.

I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as a Real Bread Campaign Ambassador in July 2021.

I am also very honoured to have been asked to be a judge at the World Bread Awards 2022.

Come and join me at one of my bread making workshops in my home kitchen and start your own sourdough journey!

If you have any interest in sourdough I would highly recommend Ilgin's course. The day was very well structured and with only 4 of us, it was very personal. She is incredibly friendly, professional and knowledgeable. There is more than enough space in her beautiful home and she provided a fantastic lunch. Not to mention all of the great things you get to take home.

Very good and informative course. IIgin took us through the steps and explained everything in an easy way. Came away with a baked loaf and one to bake at home the next day which was great

Fully recommended. The whole session was really well constructed. Ilgin has a deep knowledge of sourdough baking which she is able to convey in a very clear and concise way. She is a great teacher and a fantastic host. A really warm and inviting course set in her beautiful home. The lunch was delicious and we left with lots of goodies, a freshly baked loaf of bread and the most magical and promising ingredient of them all - a jar of her sourdough starter!
I haven’t stopped baking ever since.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience of sourdough baking. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, learning lots of new skills about sourdough baking, even though I have been baking sourdough for almost a year. Your practical approach and tips makes it easy to adapt to individual needs and makes sourdough so easy to achieve in todays busy lives.
I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and one of the best breads ever.

What a great day! We had no idea about baking Sourdough before we went, but with Ilgin's excellent, and very patient, instruction we left with heads buzzing and filled with inspiration and enthusiasm. I've now made three delicious loaves, all of which have turned out perfectly thanks to Ilgin's meticulous instructions.
It was a really full but fun day - there was quite a lot of teaching involved - but all delivered in a very relaxed way. Ilgin could not have made us more welcome and I could not recommend this more highly if you want to learn how to make Soudough, or even if you just want to try something very different.
