The real deal

The Strummer tour is not only fascinating and informative but very good fun. Aiden knows his stuff, you will see how Ladbroke grove is actually Clashland, so much history in a relatively small area. Aiden is a true gent and we won't hesitate going on any of his tours next time we hit the smoke. Proper

Fun and informative walk with someone who knows the neighborhood well. Whether you know little or a lot about the Clash, it’s well worth a couple hours to visit the many landmarks of musical history.
Very good would highly recommend to any clash fans Joe strummer- or 101er

Aidans knowledge of the area was excellent, and would not of saw or got the history that came with it
Cultural/economic climate that spawned Joe Strummer/The Clash

The walking tour exceeded our expectations. To be clear, the tour focuses on the social, cultural, and economic climate that Joe Strummer lived in and was influenced by in the early to mid 1970s in the Ladbroke area of London. The squatter movement--or rather the ability to live in abandoned homes in the Ladbroke area of London at that time--was a critical factor in bringing together the people and culture that helped to spawn and nuture the UK punk movement. The tour guide, Aidan, was energetic, fun, and a well informed local. In other words, a good guide and narrator. He also delivers a number of personal anecdotes, which I found worthwhile, but if you are only interested in hearing more about the Clash/Strummer, you may find these stories extraneous. There was also a significant segment of the tour about Joe Stummer and the 101ers (the band Strummer was in before the Clash). A shorter version of the 101ers history/tour would have been wlecomed by my group (5 friends who are all Clash/Strummer fans). But overall, I recommend the tour. The narrative involves frequent use of salty/colorful language, not suited for children. Not that we considered bringing kids on the tour, but a heads-up just in case. An unexpected plus was interacting with some of the other people on the tour. Well worth the time and cost.
