What To Expect

Make your own way to the fishery in the London suburb of Havering in the morning, then meet your instructor to begin your fishing experience.

Start with a full safety briefing, then enjoy a guided tour of the site and learn how to use your fishing tackle and bait.

Afterward, pick your spot on the lakeside and put your new skills in to action. Under the guidance of your instructor, cast your line into the water and try your luck all manner of fish. Hear handy hints and tips to catch bigger fish faster, or boost your chances of a bite.

Practice different casting techniques and master the art of landing your catch. Then, after two hours at the fishery, your fishing adventure will come to an end.

My son and I had a brilliant 4 hour session with Steve.

We learned how to cast and how to catch, we caught 4 fish between us!
Which for a cold day in January was pretty impressive.

It was fantastic day, I can't recommend it highly enough. Steve our instructor was patient, clear, and very entertaining too, telling us stories as we went.

If you want to try fishing I can't think of a better way to start.

I had always wanted to learn to fish, and give it a go. Steve was really helpful, patient, a great tutor and very encouraging. The afternoon passed quickly and I loved it. I didn’t expect to catch anything but was lucky enough to catch 3 fish and even experienced the “ one that got away”! The site was easy to find and had good, clean facilities which was a bonus. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn to fish!

As my holiday plan fell through due to travel ban, I started googling for things to do. The day didn’t start great as it was raining. But after catching my first fish (a small one), the sky cleared and everything went right. I caught quite a number of small fish and then my instructor, Mike, allowed me to reel in a big carp. After which, I caught my first big fish, a bream, by myself. And then three more carps afterwards of increasing sizes which was awesome. I loved it and will definitely recommend.
