Overview

This tour will cover a number of neighbourhoods, all of different characteristics & historical time periods. Starting in the East End where The Krays famously & violently ruled the roost in the heart of the old East End.

Not too far away you will go back in time almost a century and retread the footsteps of Jack The Ripper & his victims whilst visiting and learning about the feared Workhouses that so many lived in and so many were trapped in. Then towards Smithfields, home of many a famous & bloody execution. Stopping briefly at the beautiful St. Bartholomews church before visiting the shrine of William Wallace (Braveheart) where he was put to death in one of the most horrible ways imaginable.

Then to old Newgate prison where people awaited their trials & deaths for centuries before standing on the spot where many of the executions were enacted. The notorious Clink Prison awaits us... then the maze of alleys around Borough Market & the poverty stricken neighbourhood of Charles Dickens.

Such an incredible afternoon. Stephen is probably one of THE most knowledgeable people I’ve ever come across and the care, attention and detail he put into our tour was immense. I’m already trying to work out when we shall get to do another one with him.
Fantastic, amazing and delightful

This tour was amazing. I have been on many tours before and to be honest most just skip over it and there is not too much detail, more facts, figures, dates not to much that prices your ears up.
However Stephen Liddell the tour guide was the best. He made you feel like you were there when these events were happening. So much detail, enthusiasm, accuracy. He showed you things that were hidden. We walk past things all the time and never really look at the things we pass.
I will in future thats for sure. If you want an amazing tour this gets 5 stars from me. Thank you my lovely Stephen you are amazing xx
An experience we’ll never forget!

I can’t recommend Stephen highly enough. He’s an exceptionally nice young man and is incredibly knowledgeable. He made our private tour an experience we’ll never forget. I’ve been to this part of London many times but Stephen went out of his way to show us areas a regular tourist wouldn’t see and his commentary was first class. I’m currently debating which one of the tours to do next!
