Overview

Are you a hat lover, and would you like to learn how to make your own fascinator hat? This one-day course will enable you to create a fabulous fascinator hat, and leave with the skills to carry on creating more. You'll use a fascinator base, sinamay straw, feathers, veiling and other embellishments to create a beautiful hat piece perfect for any special occasion. You can also choose any colour to match your hat with your outfit. You will start with a short introduction to hat making, different hat styles, trimmings, and materials and will then be guided through the process of making, learning how to manipulate sinamay straw, work with veiling, curl feathers and more.

By the end of the workshop, you will have a beautifully finished hat to take home that you made yourself.

Elena is a fabulous instructor. She was able to teach a very unskilled individual to create a thing of beauty. Material, water, folding, tiny bit of glue, and steam were the only components required.

We enjoyed trying on all of the hats and wore one each whilst making our fascinator. Elena was a patient teacher and we learnt a lot about the process including making our own fascinator.
