Warwick Castle, a remnant from the Norman conquest of England, is a medieval fortress that has been the seat of Warwick, the Duke of Bedford, since 1068. It is located in north west England, on a ridge overlooking the River Avon.

The castle began as a motte and bailey fortress founded in 1068 by William the Conqueror. It was developed into a full-scale Norman fortress, complete with a Great Hall.
