The Game is afoot...

Lets start in Northumberland Avenue, and pause for a while outside the Sherlock Holmes Pub for an insight into the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and how the character of Sherlock Holmes came in to being.

The Sherlock Holmes Pub was formerly the Northumberland Hotel where Sir Henry Baskerville stayed when he arrived in London to seek the help of Sherlock Holmes.

Right opposite is the Turkish bath where Holmes and Watson relaxed during or after a case.

This tour also passes many of London's famous landmarks and as your personal guide it will be my pleasure to share my love for my home town, and also point out a few hidden gems on route.

Somerset House
Not exactly a Sherlock Holmes stop, but a fascinating place to walk through as a short cut to the station. The site of a Tudor Palace belonging to the Duke of Somerset, later rebuilt as a great civic building in 1775. Recently used as a filming location for 'Love Actually'

Lets walk down a 300 year old staircase and make our way Temple station.

5 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Sherlock Holmes Museum
The tour ends at the world famous 221b Baker Street where you can either shop for Sherlock souvenirs or enter the museum which is set out as Sherlock and Watson's home that they share with their landlady Mrs Hudson.

Richard is Amazing!
Michelle_S, 15-10-2022
Richard was fantastic to spend an afternoon with. Not only did we get great in person Sherlock Holmes spots across London; he splashed in many other fun facts about movies and history that occurred in areas on our walking tour. He also recommended places to eat and how to make the most of visiting places with local tips. We thoroughly enjoyed our trek and would absolutely look Richard up for another tour when we’re in London again. Book with him, you will absolutely not regret it.
Great tour, lots of information

This was a great tour by a very knowledgeable guide. Richard went above and beyond his duties of the Sherlock information and even included other information along the way of the tour. I was super excited to do this tour after reading all of the Sherlock Holmes stories and this tour was a great denouement to that experience. I only wish I had watched the BBC series to ensure I could fully appreciate some of the sites.
The game was on foot!

We had a VERY small group as it was just the two of us and Richard. He was extremely knowledgeable - not just about Sherlock Holmes and the time flew by as we walked about London.
I cannot recommend strongly enough; it was fantastic!
Fantastic day out

Richard was a great tour guide took us to a lot of different spots referencing Sherlock Holmes, but he would also give us information relating to history such as the Tudor times. We experienced a private tour with him so we had time to go to extra locations such as where they filmed Sherlock for the BBC show it was really cool. Richard knew a lot and gave us so much info that we didn’t know definitely recommend.
Brilliant tour with a brilliant guide

I really enjoyed this tour. One of the best I've been on. I know a lot about the subject matter, but learned even more from Richard who was exceptional
