What To Expect

Stonehenge

Your private driver will meet you at your central London address at 8am. This is the ideal time to leave as this will get you to Stonehenge just after opening time and before the large bus tours from London arrive.

The journey to Stonehenge will take between 1.5 and 2 hours depending on departure time.

As this is an independent visit your driver will show where to collect your tickets and arrange a time and place to meet you at the end of your visit.

This is an independent visit but the best way to visit Stonehenge is to stop at the visitor centre first where you will find all the information you need about Stonehenge. When you leave the visitor centre have a look around the recreated houses showing you how the builders of this monument lived. You have 2 choices to get to the stone circle. You can either take the shuttle bus or you can walk but be prepared as the walk is almost 2 miles.

After your visit to the stone circle make your way back to the visitor centre where you will find a gift shop and cafe.

Our guide, David, was excellent. He was kind, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He was able to give a history of Stonehenge and offered advice and suggestions on the best way to see and experience Stonehenge to the fullest. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him, from the punctual pick-up to the entertaining trip and conversation to and from Stonehenge. We would definitely use this company again for any excursions, and we would ask for David specifically as our guide.

I’m so glad that we booked the private tour of Stonehenge. As a solo traveler, it was nice to have a private driver as Dave. He was punctual, courteous, friendly and professional from start to finish. We shared fun conversation during the ride to and from. It was nice to have him point out areas of interest during the drive, as well as provide extensive history on the town and Stonehenge. I felt like I was traveling with a friend. Amazing experience and I definitely will book more tours when I revisit London.
