Strawberry Field
"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to the duo Lennon–McCartney. It was released in 1967 and is the band's best-known song.
It was released as a double A-side single with "Penny Lane" on the 13th of February, 1967, in the United Kingdom.
The song was inspired by Lennon's childhood memories of playing in the garden of Strawberry Field, a Salvation Army children's home in Liverpool located near John Lennon's childhood home in Woolton.
John Lennon used to play in the wooded garden behind his home with his friends Pete Shotton, Nigel Walley, and Ivan Vaughan.
